Day 1: Tarangire’s Giants & Ancient Baobabs
Depart from Arusha and journey to Tarangire National Park, famous for its large herds of elephants and majestic, sky-scraping baobab trees. Your full-day game drive promises thrilling sightings of lions, giraffes, zebras, and wildebeest, all drawn to the life sustaining Tarangire River. The park is a birdwatcher’s paradise, with hundreds of species adding a splash of color to the golden savanna. As the day ends, you’ll retreat to a comfortable lodge in Karatu to relax and recount the day’s excitement.

Day 2: The Ngorongoro Crater – Africa’s Eden
After an early breakfast, you’ll descend the steep walls into the Ngorongoro Crater, a world renowned UNESCO World Heritage Site and the world’s largest intact volcanic caldera. This natural amphitheater is home to an astonishing concentration of wildlife, offering an excellent chance to spot the Big Five. Keep your eyes peeled for the rare black rhinoceros, massive tusked elephants, and pride of lions, all set against the backdrop of the sparkling, flamingo lined Lake Magadi. In the afternoon, you’ll ascend the crater and begin your scenic return journey to Arusha.
